Fabulous " Mad Men" era wiggle dress design in 100% fine wool of steel gray.
The bodice has one-piece 3/4 sleeves with gussets, a fully open front with covered button closure, and a large collar. The skirt is a tight pencil style. Only the skirt is lined and only about halfway.... It has 2 labels, one for " Richard Cole" and one for the shop, called "Pompian Shop, Chicago". It's a great "secretary" dress, ala Mad Men.

Richard Cole was a Seventh Avenue dressmaker, starting in 1952 and lasting at least into the 1960s. Cole got his training at the dress manufacturing firm of Sheila-Lynn, which was owned by his father, Arthur Cole. After several years of training, he opened his own business. Richard Cole was never the designer, but instead employed various designers including Alan Phillips, Charles Howard, and Ruth Goodelman.
In 1967, Richard Cole was named president of a division at the Manhattan Shirt Company, Lady Manhattan.
